Mini Sessions - Must Know Details

Mini sessions are HUGE hit. I have so many requests for these throughout the year, however, they are fairly limited to weekends that I am able to offer back-to-back bookings for an entire day or afternoon. There's so many details to keep in mind, check out the sections below.
Mini Sessions are SELECT SCHEDULE sessions... what does that mean?
These are only offered as part of a back-to-back scheduling date, often times with a theme or a set included, they also sell out quickly. Here's a run-down of the mini session themes I offer every year, with some added themed/minis depending on availability.
01. Spring Minis | April/May
02. Motherhood Minis | April/May; before Mother's Day
03. Creek Minis | Warm weather months
04. Sunflower Minis | July/August/September, varies by blooming dates
05. Fall Minis | September and October
06. Christmas Minis | October and November
Mini Session Packages
Mini sessions are shorter photoshoot opportunities, usually 20 minutes in duration. While minis are great for snapping some updated family photos, they don't allow for the time needed to really get to know your family.
They also don't have the benefits that some of my full packages have such as:
01. Spending time exploring during the session (set location only)
02. Short in duration, less time for shy ones to open up in front of the camera
03. No access to client closet pieces, no time for me to facilitate wardrobe changes
04. There are no discounts on gallery upgrades for mini sessions.
05. Mini sessions are not eligible for military or first responder discounts.
What I've seen success with...
I have had great success with clients that booked a full package for their first session with me. This allows me the time to get to know you, your little ones and bring more life to the session. We walk, laugh, explore and really settle the nerves before I am pointing a camera at you. AFTER we've done a full session, I recommend clients come back for mini sessions if they're just looking for updated family photos - the kids tend to remember me, we can jump right back into knowing their personalities and working collaboratively within the mini session time frame. I have several repeat clients that structured their packages this way and they are some of the best, most candid moments that we capture every. single. time.
